How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word.
With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments!
Psalm 119:9-10
Beginning in the 1950’s, the men of Trinity have gathered together for a variety of events both at the church and off-site. Bob Hutchinson was known to host outings on Clarke Sideroad and in later years on Richmond St. in Dorchester Township. Knute Carlson, who was an avid cigar smoker, Len Ridley, Albert Demerling and Karl Ruppel would arrive in the early evening to play horseshoes and then settle down indoors for a few rounds of euchre. Reverend Killinger encouraged these bonding activities.
The Men’s Club over the years has been responsible for many events, including hosting the long-running Mother and Daughter’s Dinners. Many of the members at some point have been Council members and on the Property Committee. Currently, they host regular breakfast events with guest speakers such as Anova and Habitat For Humanity. Off-site tours have included the Kellogg Factory Building, the Goderich Salt Mine, London’s Police Station and the Western University Wind Tunnel. They help organize and run church events like Christmas dinners, Lutheran Men’s barbeques and the Annual Yard Sale. They also continue to help manage the Trinity property.
This group meets monthly for breakfast on Saturday mornings with a guest speaker. It is a joint ministry with Redeemer and St. Ansgar Lutheran Churches and while thier title is “Men’s” Club, they do welcome lady visitors anytime they want to join them!
The Men’s Club always welcomes men of any age to join them. See our newsletter for information about the next Men’s Club event.
