The Lutheran-Anglican Joint Assembly on July 5 passed a joint delaration focusing on the issues of homelessness in Canada and “responsible resource extraction” involving Canadian companies in Canada.
Following the passing of the resolution, the Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, Bishop Fred Hiltz, invited the delates to stand and read the declaration together. Pastor Steve shared his copy of that declaration with two Anglicans. This photo was featured on the cover of the ‘Joint Assembly Daily” of July 6.
Canadian Anglicans and Lutherans gathered today on Parliament Hill in an act of public witness. The event was lead by youth (some who are delegates of the 2013 Joint Assembly and others from the wider community) to draw attention to the issues
of access to clean drinking water for all people, especially Canada’s First Nations people.
More to follow when Pastor Steve gets back to London.
