This recipe makes unleavened bread and breaks easily without too many crumbs.
Ingredients
- 1 cup white flour (or use barley flour is you want a more scriptural touch)
- 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 tablespoons Crisco shortening (or margarine)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
- Sift together, cut in Crisco, add honey and enough water to make a workable dough and roll into a ball
- roll out 1/2 inch thick on floured board (makes two round breads about 6″ diameter)
- score lightly with knife for ease of breaking
- place on grease baking sheet bake at 350 F for 15-20 minutes
