A ministry work that will help young people affected by the civil war in Liberia. While the fighting ended in 2003, the effects of the war are still being felt, especially for the young children that became child soldiers. For much of their young lives all they knew was fighting and how to use guns.
To help progress a Liberia free from the threat of further conflicts, the Association of Liberian Lutherans in the Americas (ALLIA) are working to start a trade school in Liberia to give these young people new technical skills as a replacement for the skills of violence that they grew up with.
ALLIA is working in partnership with the Lutheran Church in Liberia (LCL) to start a Technical Regional University in Liberia and ALLIA’s 7th National Assembly is being held at Trinity Lutheran Church, London, 23-26 August, 2018.
